- Commit to picking up litter for a period of two years along a two-mile stretch of roadside (pavement not included) a minimum of four times a year.

- Request copy of information packet on the Adopt-A-Road program from the Public Works Department.
- Complete the free permit/application and liability release forms.
- Return completed forms to the Department of Public Works.
Completed permit/application is reviewed by Public Works Department staff to determine if selected county maintained road is available for adoption and meets Adopt-A-Road safety requirements. Applicants will be notified in writing of acceptance or denial of application, and if applicable, will be provided a copy of the approved permit. If the section of road is already adopted your name will be put on a waiting list and you will be notified if the section becomes available or you may select an alternative site.
Upon notification of your approved permit contact the Public Works Department Coordinator to arrange for pick up of equipment and supplies. County will loan grabbers and safety gear consisting of hard hats, orange vests and safety glasses to approved participants. Free trash bags will also be provided.Place filled bags out of the traveled roadway along side the road. Notify the Public Works Coordinator that you have bags for pick up. The County Road Department will pick up and dispose of the trash.
