Rolling Blackouts Possible in Lake County 3pm-10pm Today

LAKE COUNTY, CA (August 17, 2020) – The County of Lake has just learned rolling blackouts are possible today, 3-10pm.

This is not a Public Safety Power Shutoff event, but electricity could be temporarily unavailable in portions or all of Lake and Sonoma Counties.

Whether or not blackouts ultimately occur will depend on weather and electricity supply and demand, but the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) has advised it is possible, so we wanted to ensure Lake County residents are aware, and have opportunity to prepare.

As previously advised, conserving power, particularly from 3-10pm, is the best way to reduce our risk of outages.

Water Faucet
Urgent Health Advisory

Effective immediately, people on private water systems whose tap water comes from their own private intake into the lake, in the Oaks Arm and Lower Arm of Clear Lake should not drink the water.
