Lake County Continuum of Care Announces the Availability of Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention Program Grant Funding

Lucerne, CA (August 24, 2020) – Lake County Continuum of Care (LCCoC) is pleased to announce the availability of Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention Program (HHAP) grant funding. HHAP is a block grant program designed to expand or develop local capacity to address immediate homelessness challenges throughout the county. Spending must be informed by a best practice’s framework focused on moving homeless individuals and families into permanent housing and ensuring those individuals and families to maintain their permanent housing.

Funding Available For:  Navigation Center ‐ The LCCoC has prioritized and applied to use these funds to support the establishment of two navigation centers, one on each end of Lake County. Each Navigation Center shall include year‐round emergency shelter and/or a supportive housing project.

Funding Amount: Funds available for this project total $440,000.00. Interested agencies can apply for all or part of the funding and collaboration among agencies is encouraged.

Requirements: Agencies applying must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, government or Tribal that serves those struggling with homelessness or at‐risk of becoming homeless in Lake County.

The Lake County Continuum of Care is a HUD‐designated organization that promotes communitywide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; provides funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, and State and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness; promotes access to and effects utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and optimizes self‐ sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
